Welcome to our website!
who are the friends of the waterboro public library?
The purpose of the Friends of the Waterboro Public Library is to act as an advocate for good library service and use; to promote fund raising and volunteer activities to benefit the library; to enhance the Waterboro Public Library facility, including its physical plant; the acquisition of books and technology.
At this time, the primary focus of our energy is the building of a new public library in Waterboro. We are grateful for all who support those efforts. We have begun a Capital Campaign that is focused on the referendum that will be placed before the people of Waterboroin November2010. We have formed a partnership with Eaton Peabody Consulting Group to provide professional assistance in raising $1m in private funds and presenting our case to the town. The FOWPL meet every Monday evening at 7:00pm at the Heritage Company, 2nd floor. We would love to have you join this effort.

Library Capital Campaign underway!
FOWPL have embarked on a Capital Campaign that will raise $1m in private funds. This is in addition to the 4 acres of donated land and the $323,000 that has been given or pledged toward the new library. We have begun meeting with Mathew Eddy, Executive Director of Eaton Peabody Consulting Group. He has wide experience as town planner and economic development and knows the Federal, State and Foundation resources.
Future FOWPL meetings will focus on planning fundraisers, developing a list of names of people, organizations and businesses that could be part of this effort now and into the future. The group will also develop means of communicating with the residents of Waterboro as we work towards this successful endeavor!
